F
07 January 2002
AGE-NC Project No 95-0109
Page 3 of 4 _
4 ,
The ground water flow direction was Inferred to be towards the west-southwest to southwest on-site
and toward the south-southwest to south, south of the site Figure 3 illustrates the contoured ground
water elevations Historical ground water flow directions are summarized on Table 4
3 2 PETROLEUM HYDROCARBON-IMPACTED GROUND WATER
Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in ground water samples from wells MW-8, MW-9 and
MW-14 TPH-g was detected at concentrations as high as 12,000 micrograms per liter (µg11)
I (MW-14) One or more BTEX compounds were detected in samples from the same wells at
concentrations as high as 1,000 µg11 benzene, 160 µg/1 toluene,250 µg11 ethylbenzene and 420 µg/1
total xylenes (MW-14)
1,2-DCA was detected in samples collected from wells MW-7, MW-8, MW-9 and MW-14 at
concentrations as high as 120 µg11 (MW-14) Other fuel additives were not detected in the samples
' collected The analytical results for the December 2001 monitoring event are presented on Table 2
Historical analytical results are summarized on Table 3 The approximate extent of dissolved TPH-g,
benzene and 1,2-DCA are depicted on Figures 4, 5 and 6
The laboratory report {r CTEL Laboratory ID Nos 0112-033-01 through 0112-033-05) and
chain-of-custody forms are included in Appendix B
4.0. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS
4
Based upon data collected from the site, AGE finds
' • Ground water elevation Increased an average of 0 55 feet between the September 2001 and
December 2001 sampling events The ground water flow direction was inferred to be towards
the west-southwest to southwest on-site and toward the south-southwest to south, south of
the site
• Hydrocarbon concentrations in ground water remained relatively stable in the samples
' collected from wells MW-8, MW-9 and MW-14 and remained below laboratory detection
limits in samples collected from MW-7 and MW-12 compared to results of the June 2001
' sampling event
• 1,2 DCA was detected in water samples from wells MW-7, MW-8, MW-9 and MW-14
during the fourth quarter 2001 at concentrations as high as 120µg/l(MW-14) 1,2-DCA was
' not detected in the water sample, collected from MW-12 this quarter Other fuel additives
. were not detected at the site
1 r
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
1 ,
