,meq Y .1
Mr. Kevin McKibben
Advanced Geo Environmental (North)
GLDM
March 31 , 1997
Page 2
COMMENT
Physicochemical parameter levels remain relatively low, but would be generally considered as
sufficient to support microbial growth and metabolism for these environments. Some shifting
in microbial population dynamics has occurred since the previous sampling event, with MW-14
showing increased levels of heterotrophic microbes, with decreases in gasoline-specific
microbial subpopulations observed for both samples. These data suggest a continuing decline
in the dominance of the petroleum hydrocarbon concentration as a metabolically utilizable
tsubstrate, especially for MW-14. The observed increase in the general population for this well
suggests an increased abundance of other, noncontaminant available organics. Analytical data
associated with these water samples should be reviewed in order to evaluate consistency with
the interpretations noted above.
Should you have any questions concerning this information, please do not hesitate to contact
me.
AKK:ch
