i
Mr. Bob Marty
Advanced GeoEnvironmental (North)
GLDM
May 14, 1996
Page 2
COMMENT
II
Please note that, in general, reductions occurred in recoverable cell counts for both heterotrophic
and selective microbial subpopulations. This finding is likely due to significant depletion of
nutrients, especially nitrate and ammonium. While previous results indicated that microbial
growth and metabolic activity could be achieved at lower than normal physicochemical values,
it appears that the limiting level has been attained. Therefore, we recommend that additional
supplementation be implemented utilizing ammonium nitrate to achieve approximately 25-50 ppm
combined nitrate and ammonium levels within these waters.
Should you have any questions concerning this information, please do not hesitate to contact me.
I
I
' AKK:ch
I
