(AGE) has prepared this Phase 11 <br /> Site Assessment Report for the subject property located at 140 West Harding Way, <br /> Stockton, California (site). The scope of work included advancement of six (6) soil <br /> borings (V-1 through V-6); borings V-1 through V-4 were advanced to ten feet below <br /> surface grade (bsg) for collection of soil-vapor samples at five feet and ten feet bsg; V-5 <br /> was advanced to seven feet bsg for collection of a soil-vapor sample at five feet bsg,- <br /> and <br /> sg;and V-6 was advanced to ten feet bsg for collection of a soil-vapor sample at ten feet <br /> bsg. A site plan illustrating the location of the site and depicting the soil boring locations <br /> is presented in Figure 1. <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> The subject property was originally developed in 1932 as a Shell branded gasoline <br /> station and remained a Shell station until 1961. From 1961 through 1972, the site was <br /> operated as an Enco Service station. In 1973 the site operated as an Exxon branded <br /> gasoline station. From 1987 through January 1991, the property was operated as a <br /> sandwich shop called The Yellow Submarine. <br /> In February 1974, Stockton Fire Department records indicated that four (4) underground <br /> storage tanks (USTs) were removed from the site, which consisted of one 4,000-gallon <br /> fuel tank, two 3,000-gallon fuel tanks and one 550-gallon waste oil tank. <br /> During the tank removals soil was excavated to a depth of 15 feet below surface grade <br /> (bsg).
