April 22, 1987 AGS 8691-6
Beacon Service Station #1-502 - Lodi, California
Only low levels of hydrocarbons were detected in the ground water
collected from MW-5. The benzene concentrations detected are
above action levels established by the California Department of
Health Services. Other volatile hydrocarbon constituents are
within drinking water standards, and all hydrocarbon levels are
substantially below values detected in monitoring wells MW-1, MW-
2, and MW-4. We thus conclude that the ground water
contamination observed in MW-1 and MW-2 does not extend far
beyond the location of MW-5 at the edge of the site.
GROUND WATER GRADIENT
Evaluation of relative ground water elevations in the five
monitoring wells on site indicates that the average gradient is
to the south southwest. Table 2 is a summary of well elevation
data obtained to date. Data from MW-1, MW-2, and MW-3 show
essentially the same direction of ground water flow, although the
slope of the potentiometric surface has changed from 0. 471 /100 '
on October 14, 1986 to 0. 341 /100 ' on March 31, 1987.
9
.4,o,/ied GeoSystems
