The site is on the :5euthwestern corner of North Cherokee Lane and Elm
Street in Lodi, as shown on the Site Vicinity Map (Plate P-1). The locations of the ground-
water monitoring wells relative to site facilities are depicted on the Generalized Site Plan
(Plate P-2). Previous work at the site by Applied GeoSystems is documented in the reports
cited in +he attached References list.,
A geologist from Applied GeoSys±ems visited the site on December 14 and 15, 1989, to
collect ground-water samples from the five monitoring wells for laboratory analysis. The
depth to the groundwater surface was measured and the water was analyzed suhjectively
in each monitoring well using proceciurt a outlined in the attached Field Procedures. The
geologist noted no subjective evidence of hydrocarbon product.
Grounc+ water from each monitoring well wat: purged and sampled as outlined in the Field
Procedures. The field geologist initiated a Chain of Custody Record that accompc.nied the
samples to the analytical. laboratory. A copy of that the Chain of Custody record is
attached. The purge water fr,,,,n the wells was stared temporarily onsite in properly labeled,
55-gallon, 17-E steel drums, approved for that use by the Department of Transportation,
pending ren doval by Ultramar.
xqr r
