Sox 2009
Stockton, California 95201
SUBJECT: QUARTERLY GROUND-WATER MONITORING REPORT FOR THE SECOND
QUARTER 1992, BEACON STATION NO. 502, LODI . CALIFORNIA
Dear Mr. Knoll :
This report presents the results of the quarterly ground-water monitoring
for the second quarter 1992 at the above-referenced site. The site is
located at 35 North Cherokee Lane, Lodi , California (Figure 1) . The
. quarterly monitoring program included depth-to-water measurements,
subjective evaluation for the presence of hydrocarbons, and ground-water
sampling in (3) three ground-water monitoring wells (MW-3 through MW-5) at
the site (Figure 2) . MW-1 and MW-2 were dry and were not sampled. After
purging, samples were collected from all three wells and analyzed for
total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-g) and benzene, toluene,
ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX) . These activities were performed
on May 20, 1992, following the attached field protocol (Appendix) .
RESULTS
The most recent ground-water data along with past data are included in
Table 1 . Data in Table 1 indicates that the ground-water surface
elevation dropped an average of 4.25 feet between March 19, 1990 and May
20, 1992. The ground-water contours were evaluated from the
depth-to-water measurements and wellhead elevation data. The ground-water
flow direction is interpreted from the contours to be toward the southeast
on May 20, 1992 with an approximate gradient of 0.012 ft/ft (Figure 3) .
Subjective analyses of water in the wells indicated that no wells
exhibited any free floating hydrocarbons or hydrocarbon odor. Cumulative
subjective analyses are also presented in Table 1. Field notes from this
latest monitoring event are included in the appendix to this report.
BEACON
#1 Quality and serNicc
A Member of the Ultramar Group of Companies
