Station No. 502, 35 N. Cherokee Lane, Lodi, - Interim Remediation Plan
within the BAAQMD's 1 to 10 acceptable excess cancer risk range for T-
SACT operations. The actual duration of the program is expected to be
only a year or less.
This risk assessment did not account for the fact that the public health
risk could actually be higher if these toxic contaminants were not
removed from the underground environment and then destroyed.
A copy of the PTPLU output, showing the maximum one-hour benzene
concentration used to determine the risk limited emission rate, is
enclosed for reference. To convert the hourly concentration to risk,
simply multiply the PTPLU computed hourly value by 0.1 to annualize the
concegtration and then multiply again by the benzene Unit Risk Value (2.9
x 10- ) to obtain the excess risk in cases per million population for a
full 70 year lifetime exposure period. The actual duration of the
program is a small fraction of the 70 year exposure period used for this
conservative risk assessment.
PLAN DISTRIBUTION
` We recommend that copies of this plan be distributed as follows:
Ms. Margaret Lagorio, Senior REBS (209) 468-3449
Environmental Health Services
San Joaquin County Public Health Services
P.O.
