The following participants were in
attendance:
Kyle Christie ARCO Products Company Ron Zurlinden Brown and Caldwell
Jay R. Johnson EMCON Margaret Lagorio PHS/EHD
Mary Meays PHS/EHD Linda Turkatte PHS/EHD
Diane M. Hinson PHS/EHD
The following are summaries of the discussions and agreements reached for each site.
1711 E. Yosemite, Manteca ARCO Facility #6020
PHS/EHD contact - Michael Infurna
This site was not discussed at this meeting
7906 N. EI Dorado St., Stockton ARCO Facility #2130
PHS/EHD contact - Michael Infurna
The remedial system is currently operating. A total of 1400 pounds of hydrocarbons have
been estimated destroyed to date. There have been some problems with the catalyst and it
has been replaced once already.
Two sparge and two vapor wells are to be installed the week of August 7, 1995.
441 W. Charter Way, Stockton ARCO Facility #2168
PHS/EHD contact - Michael Infurna
The issue of the transmission shop located across the street to the west of this site as a
possible source to the groundwater contamination was discussed. PHS/EHD showed a picture
of the transmission shop which clearly shows a gasoline dispensing operation at the site in the
past. The sign on the corner of the station read Atlantic Richfield. ARCO will research their
records to determine if the site was operated in the past by ARCO or if the operator at the site
bought ARCO gasoline.
The data from the borings that were installed under the current tank complex at the site show
contamination beginning at approximately 25 feet below ground surface, the depth of past
seasonal high groundwater. The soil data observed to date has not supported that the
release(s) from the site have caused the substantial groundwater contamination being
observed in the monitoring well. However, the tank pit area, the piping runs and the dispenser
area will be inspected judiciously at the time of the tank removal to attempt to completely rule
out the tank system at this site as the groundwater pollution source.
A joint meeting of all responsible parties identified for contamination in the area is scheduled
for October 30, 1995, at 10:00 a.m. to be held at the office of PHS/EHD.
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
