This site was chosen for remedial
implementation before the ARCO station #548 due to the
evaluation of the comparative assessment between these two
sites .
The need for an additional monitoring well to the notheastter of
the site was discussed. Given the low levels of gr
oundcontamination evidenced at the site and the infrequency of
measured groundwater flow in that direction, the need for an
additional monitoring well will be reassessed when more data
from the site is available .
85 E. Due to the low
concentrations of unidentifiable "miscellaneous" hydrocarbons
found in the soil near the former waste oil tank pit area,
PHS/EHD has concluded that the potential threat to groundwater
wies not warrant the additional cost e oil tank reOf further investigation
th regard to the wast
PHS/EHD will issue a formal site certification letter after
the destruction of the three monitoring wells at the site .
PHS/EHD staff has the following comments on events that have
occurred since the May 16 , 1995, meeting:
1 . At a site where groundwater sampling was occurring it
came to our attention that insufficient time is ater lfrom
to elapse between the eva a i nof groundw
caused the water level
monitoring wells where purging
to be less than 80 per cent of the original water level
the
and their subsequent sampling.
