Work Plan for Additional Sile tsessment •
ARCO Facility No. 6100
Tracy,California
Page 10
cooler. The sampler will be removed from the borehole and decontaminated after each
sample is collected. Samples will be forwarded to a California state-certified analytical
laboratory for chemical analysis. Strict chain-of-custody procedures will be followed
from the time the sample is collected until the time the sample is relinquished to the
laboratory.
Task 3: Laboratory Analysis
Soil and groundwater samples will be analyzed for TPHG using USEPA Method
8015/8020 DHS LUFT, for methanol using USEPA Method 8015 modified, and for
BTEX, MTBE, ethyl tertiary butyl ether (ETBE), tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME),
tertiary butyl alcohol (TBA), di-isopropyl ether (DIPE), 1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA),
ethanol, and ethylene dibromide (EDB) using USEPA Method 8260B.
Task 4: Waste Management
Drilling mud, water, and soil cuttings generated during mud rotary drilling will be stored
in a self-contained compartmentalized soil bin. Soil cuttings generated during air-rotary
casing-hammer drilling will be stored in a roll-off bin. Wastewater generated will be
properly containerized and hauled to an appropriate disposal facility. The containers will
be stored on site pending disposal. A composite sample will be collected from the soil
cuttings and chemically analyzed to determine an appropriate disposal method.
Task 5: Report Preparation
Following receipt of all analytical results, a report documenting the findings of the
investigation will be prepared. The report will include, but not be limited to, analytical
tables, a scaled site plan, geologic cross sections, boring logs, geophysical logs, certified
analytical report, and general findings of the assessment. The report will be submitted to
San Joaquin County PHS/EHD and CRWQCB within five weeks of receipt of all
analytical reports.
SCHEDULE
Delta submitted anaccess agreement to the owner of the property located southeast of the
site on April 4, 2001. To date we have not received a signed agreement. Several
attempts to gain access to this property were also made last year.
Upon receiving approval of this work plan and access to the offsite property, Delta will
schedule the work and submit a well permit application package to San Joaquin County
PHS/EHD. It will likely take approximately four weeks for the drilling contractor to
become available. The drilling should be completed within four weeks of initiation.
