(Stratus) has prepared this Additional Site Assessment Work Plan
(Work Plan) for former ARCO Service Station No. 6100 (the site), located at 25775
Patterson Pass Road, Tracy, California (Figure 1). In a letter dated August 11, 2005, San
Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD) requested a work plan to
further investigate the extent of subsurface petroleum hydrocarbon impact adjacent to the
service station property. The August 11, 2005 letter directed that the lateral extent of free
phase liquid hydrocarbon (free product) be further investigated, and that additional wells
be installed downgradient of the site to allow for additional monitoring and sampling of
groundwater.
Stratus is proposing to complete an additional subsurface investigation in two phases.
The initial phase involves advancing five continuously cored exploratory soil borings to
enable collection of soil samples and further characterization of soil conditions.
Following completion of the borings, and a review of analytical data, a network of
appropriately screened monitoring wells will be installed. Details associated with
completing the proposed site assessment activities are described in the following
subsections of this Work Plan.
SITE DESCRIPTION
The site is currently an active 76-branded service station (formerly operated as ARCO
Service Station No. 6100) located approximately 700 feet west of the intersection of
Patterson Pass Road and Interstate 580 near Tracy, California.
