Box 5811 <br /> San Mateo, California 94402 <br /> Subject: Addendum to Work Plan for a Subsurface Investigation at ARCO Service <br /> Station No. 760, 225 South Cherokee Lane, Lodi, California. <br /> Mr. Carmel: <br /> At the request of ARCO Products Company (ARCO), App!ied GeoSystems, <br /> Inr../RESNA Industries (Applied GeoSystems) is submitting this addendum to our <br /> previous Work Plan No. 38048-3W, dated April 23, 1990, and Results of Initial <br /> Investigation and Work Plan for Excavation During Tank Replacement, Report No. <br /> 38048-4, dated December 18, 1990. Additional work to be conducted during tank <br /> replacement includes monitoring the removal and replacement of the underground <br /> storage tanks. The purpose of the work is to evaluate whether hydrocarbons are <br /> affecting native soil underlying the site and to assist ARCO and their contractors in <br /> complying with local permitting for underground storage tank replaca-ment.. No remedial <br /> activities wwi'] be conducted during the removal and replacement of the tanks.� ARCO <br /> ' Service Station No. 760 is located on the northwest corner of South Cherokee Lane and <br /> Lodi Avenue in Lodi, California, as shown on the Site Vicinity Map (Plate P-1). <br /> A representative of Applied GeoSystems was at the site in May 1990 to observe drilling. <br /> of three soil borings near the former waste-oil tank cavity. We returned to the site in <br /> October 1990 to observe the drilling of five additional soil borings near t11e existing and <br /> proposed gasoline tank cavity. locations of the borings are'ihown on the Generalized <br /> Site Plan (Plate P-2). Results of the October 1990 investigatlu;r::_dicated residual <br /> gasoline hydrocarbons were not detected in the soil sample collected from borings <br /> around the perimeter of the existing tank cavity or near the proposed tank cavity in <br /> concentrations that warrant remediation.
