April 7, 1992 AV <br /> ARCO Service Station No 760, Lodi, California <br /> 1' <br /> On July 9, 1991, with ARCO's approval, we transmitted via fax, the results of the soil <br /> samples collected under the former product lines and the results of the vapor-extraction test <br /> to the SJCPHS-EHD A final letter was forwarded to the SJCPHS-EHD on July 29, 1991 <br /> 1' <br /> (RESNA, July 29, 1991) Because results of laboratory analyses indicated residual <br /> hydrocarbons remained in place, and based on results of the vapor-extraction test showing <br /> vapor-extraction is a feasible remedial alternative at the site, RESNA also submitted plans <br /> 1 showing our proposed locations of vapor-extraction wells (Plate 4) <br /> In the July 9, 1991 letter, we requested authorization to leave soil with residual <br /> 1 hydrocarbons in place under the former product lines, for the contractor to install new <br /> product lines at the site, and for RESNA engineers to install subgrade components (4-inch- <br /> diameter polyvinyl chloride piping) for use in a future vapor-extraction system On July 10, <br /> 1991, Mr Steve Schneider of the SJCPHS-EHD verbally approved the above requests with <br /> the condition that additional environmental work be conducted at the site, including <br /> delineation of residual hydrocarbons in soil, installation of a vapor extraction system and <br /> submittal of a work plan to the SJCPHS-EHD <br /> 1 <br /> n <br /> SAMPLING, RESULTS AND DISPOSAL OF STOCKPILED SOIL <br /> Soil samples were collected according to the methods described in Appendix A Copes of <br /> 1 the Chain of Custody records and laboratory reports for stockpiled soil samples are included <br /> in Appendix F <br /> 1 <br /> 1 • <br /> 38048-5 13 <br />
