April 7, 1992
ARCO Service Station No 760, Lodi, California
Included in our July 29, 1991 submittal to the SJCPHS-EHD requesting installation of
product lines, RESNA also submitted a drilling permit request to the SJCPHS-EHD On
August 22, 1991, Mr Steve Schneider of the SJCPHS-EHD approved the drilling permit
I 2
Drilling will be conducted using field methods described in our June 13, 1991, Addendum
to Work Plan for subsurface investigation after appropriate permits for drilling the soil
boring offsite are obtained We will modify the vapor-extraction well construction to include
n factory-perforated casing with 0 10-inch-wide slots and the annular space opposite the screen
will be filled with pea gravel to approximately 1 foot above the top of the slotted casing
A maximum interval of 35 feet of slotted casings will be used
LBUTATIONS
. This report was prepared in accordance with generally accepted standards of environmental
geological practice in California at the time this investigation was performed This
investigation was conducted solely for the purpose of evaluating environmental conditions
of the soil with respect to gasoline and waste oil near the former underground tanks,
dispensers, and product-delivery lines No soil engineering or geotechnical
recommendations are implied or should be inferred Evaluation of the geologic conditions
at the site for the purpose of this investigation is made from a limited number of
observation points Subsurface conditions may vary away from the data points available
Additional work, including further subsurface investigation, can reduce the inherent
uncertainties associated with this type of investigation
i
38048-5 19
