April 7, 1992 <br /> ARCO Service Station No 760, Lodi, California <br /> 1 <br /> CURRENT INVESTIGATIONS <br />' Field work performed by RESNA on behalf of ARCO at the project site was conducted in <br /> accordance with our amended Work Plans (38048-4W, dated December 17, 1990,and 38048- <br /> 6W dated May 24, 1991) and our Site Safety Plans (38048-5S dated, December 17, 1990 and <br /> 38048-6S dated May 24, 1991) The site safety plan, field procedures, and Chain of Custody <br /> r protocol are discussed in Appendix A <br /> DRILLING AND INSTALLATION OF VAPOR-EXTRACTIONWELLS <br /> r <br /> Soil Bonngs <br /> A geologist and drilling crew from RESNA were as onsite June 13, 1991, to drill three soil <br /> bonngs (B-9, B-10, and B-11) and construct three vapor-extraction wells (VW-1, VW-2, and <br /> VW-3) in the bonngs Drilling was performed under the guidance of our field geologist who <br /> collected soil samples from the bonngs during drilling Our geologist collected samples at <br /> r 5-foot intervals for classification and laboratory analyses ARCO requested we install vapor- <br /> extraction wells before the new tanks were installed <br /> Soil samples collected from the bonngs were logged using visual and manual methods and <br /> 0 classified according to the Unified Soil Classification System Descriptions of the materials <br /> encountered are presented in the Logs of Borings in Appendix B Sediments consisted <br /> predominantly of stat with traces of fine-grained sand <br /> D <br /> DID <br /> 38048-5 4 <br />
