Box 5811 <br /> San Mateo, California 94402 <br /> SUBJECT Vapor-Extraction Test Results for Arco Service Station No. 760, 225 South <br /> Cherokee Lane, Lodi, Califorrua <br /> Mr Carmel <br /> At the request of ARCO Products Company (ARCO), Applied GeoSystems, Inc./RESNA <br /> Industries (RESNA) has prepared this letter report summarizing the results and conclusions <br /> of a vapor-extraction test (VET) performed at the subject site. This VET was performed <br /> in conjunction with an ongoing environmental investigation and anticipated treatment of <br /> hydrocarbon-bearing soil beneath the subject site The site location is shown on the Site <br /> Vicinity Map, Plate 1 <br /> WORK DESCRIPTION <br /> The VET performed by RESNA on June 14, 1991 had two objectives (1) to collect site <br /> specific operational data to evaluate the efficiency and practicality of a vapor extraction <br /> system (VES) as a soil remediation alternative and (2) to evaluate the most appropriate off- <br /> gas treatment alternative, if the operational data suggest that vapor extraction is <br /> recommended <br /> k The vapor-extraction equipment utilized for the VET consisted of (1) an internal <br /> combustion (IC.) engine; (2) instrumentation for measuring air flow, air velocity, air <br /> pressure,temperature, electrical current,and volatile organic compound concentrations,and <br /> (3) polyvinyl chloride (PVC) piping, fittings, and wellhead connections RESNA operated <br /> the vapor-extraction testing equipment for approximately six hours Three vapor-extraction <br /> wells (VW-1 through VW-3) previously installed by RESNA were used during the VET <br /> • 0912CCAR <br /> 38048-06 <br />
