Mr Chuck Carmel Project 0905-111 01 September 12, 1994 Page 2 i I Concord, California The results of analyses are summarized in Table 2 Copies of the j ' laboratory analysis reports are presented in Attachment A ' TPHG concentrations ranged from 31 parts per billion ([ppb] well MW-2) to 51 ppb (well MW-3), and concentrations of benzene ranged from below detection limits (wells MW-2 and MW-3) to 0 3 ppb (well MW-1) Benzene concentrations have remained below ' maximum contaminant level since the monitoring program was initiated TPHG and benzene concentrations are shown on Figure 1 TOG and TPHD were not detected in groundwater samples collected from all wells WORK IN PROGRESS ' ARCO will continue to perform quarterly groundwater monitoring The third quarter sampling event is scheduled for September 1994 ARCO is continuing efforts to obtain access to property north and west of the site to further characterize the extent of ' hydrocarbons Access agreements were mailed to Pamela Martinez (property owner north of the site) on May 1, 1993, and June 15, 1993, and she will be sent a third agreement in the third quarter of 1994 Inquiries as to the status of the property west of the site are currently being directed to the city of Lodi CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS TPHG was detected at low concentration~ in all wells, and benzene was below maximum contalrunant levels However, TOG and TPHD concentrations were below detection limits in all wells The groundwater flow direction was toward the northeast During the previous sampling event (March 1994), groundwater flow direction was towards the ' southeast The groundwater elevation beneath the Site has lowered approximately 2 feet since the first quarter monitoring event ' DOCUMENT DISTRIBUTION We recommend that copies of this report be forwarded ' Mr Linda Turkette San Joaquin Public Health Services ' P O Box 2009 Stockton, California 95201 1A lj3ilr1N05'D805i 110 Id1-94 lfL 6
