Second Addendum to Work Plan for Additional Subsurface Investigation at
ARCO Service Station No 760, 225 South Cherokee Lane, Lodi, California
Mr Carmel
At the request of ARCO Products Company (ARCO), RESNA Industries (RESNA) has
prepared this Work Plan for conducting a subsurface environmental investigation at and
adjacent to ARCO Service Station No 760 The purpose of the investigation is to further
investigate the lateral and vertical delineation of residual hydrocarbons in soil that were
previously detected at the site The site is shown on the Site Vicinity Map (Plate 1) The
approximate locations of present site features are shown on the Generalized Site Plan(Plate
2).
Previous Work
In May 1990, three soil borings (B-1 through B-3) were drilled near a former waste-oil tank
east of the station building to evaluate the lateral extent of residual waste oil In October
1990, three borings (B-4 through B-6) were drilled around the perimeter of the existing
tanks and two borings (B-7 and B-8) were drilled in the area where the new tanks were
proposed
A geologist from RESNA was onsite June 13, 1991, to observe the drilling of three soil
borings and the construction of three vapor-extraction wells (VW-1 through VW-3). A
vapor-extraction test was conducted on June 14, 1991 with the results indicating that vapor-
extraction is a feasible remedial alternative with an effective radius of influence of 22 feet
estimated for the site
i

3&M8-7W
1
