All borings well be terminated at ground water or when two consecutive <br /> soil samples with photoioruzation detector (PID) readings below 50 parts per million <br /> by volume are recorded,whichever is encountered first We estimate terminating the <br /> borings at approximately 40 feet below grade Convert the soil borings to 4-inch- <br /> diameter vapor-extraction wells, of warranted The screened zone for all vapor- <br /> extraction wells (Plate 3) will be based on residual hydrocarbon concentrations <br /> previously detected en the area and PID readings of soil samples collected in the <br /> field <br /> o Drill three soil borings at and north of the dispenser islands at locations shown on <br /> Plate 2. Convert a minimum of two of the three borings to vapor-extraction wells as <br /> shown <br /> o Drill two soil borings at and south of the former waste oil tank at locations shown <br /> on Plate 2 Convert a minimum of one of the three borings to vapor-extraction wells <br /> as shown <br /> o Drill two soil borings within and south of the former tank cavity at locations shown <br /> on Plate 2 Convert a minimum of one of the two borings to vapor-extraction wells <br /> as shown. <br /> o Collect relatively undisturbed soil samples at 5-foot intervals or lithology changes <br /> from the ground surface to the total depth of each boring and log borings according <br /> to the Unified Soil Classification System <br /> Submit appropriate soil samples to a State-certified laboratory for analyses of total <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg) and as diesel (TPHd) and benzene, <br /> toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylene isomers (BTEX) using Environmental <br /> Ir Protection Agency Methods 8015/5030 (modified) and 8020, respectively <br /> 3&98-7w 3 <br /> Lung= "ALM <br /> Working To Restore Nature <br />
