4 1 5 Soil Vapor Extraction Tests <br /> RESNA performed an SVE test in June 1991 to evaluate remedial alternatives for the site <br /> (RESNA, September 12, 1991) RESNA conducted the SVE test for approximately <br /> 6 hours using vapor extraction wells VW-1, VW-2, and VW-3 Results of the SVE test <br />' are summarized in Section 5 5 (Evaluation of the Soil Vapor Extraction Test) <br /> 4.2 Assessment of Groundwater <br /> 4.21 Groundwater Monitoring Well Construction <br /> To evaluate if petroleum hydrocarbons had impacted groundwater, three groundwater <br />' monitoring wells (MW-1 through MW-3) were installed in borings B-21 through B-23, <br /> respectively Construction details of the wells are shown on the logs of borings <br /> (see Appendix B) and are presented in Table 3 Monitoring wells were developed and <br />' sampled according to the procedures presented in Appendix A The locations of the wells <br /> are shown on Figure 2 <br /> 4.2.2 Groundwater Monitoring <br /> In response to the dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons detected in groundwater collected in <br /> March 1994, ARCO initiated a quarterly groundwater monitoring program The purpose <br /> of this work is to monitor the concentrations of dissolved petroleum hydrocarbons in <br /> L groundwater and to evaluate the direction of groundwater flow and the hydraulic gradient <br /> beneath the site Groundwater Technology, Inc , performed quarterly groundwater <br /> monitoring from June 1994 through December 1994 EMCON performed quarterly <br /> groundwater monitoring in 1995 and 1996 Work included measunng depths to water and <br /> L011eLting groundwater samples for subjective and laboratory analyses of petroleum <br /> hydrocarbon~ EMCON's field methods for groundwater monitoring are presented in <br />' Appendix A <br />' 4.3 Additional Site Assessment <br /> On June 7, 1995, an additional site assessment was completed The following activities were <br /> performed to evaluate the lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbons north of the site and to <br /> prepare for possible remediation <br /> SA(W TEN0805\08051420 4RS-97yirc l Rev 0 3112/97 <br /> 20805 142 004 4.3 <br />
