Cherokee Lane, Lodi, California TL A91701.01
February 7, 1995 Page 3
L3.3 Prnject HisIM
L Twining understands that a 550-gallon waste oil UST was removed from the site in June
1987 and that three product tanks (2-8,500, 1-10,000) were removed in August 1988. Some
overexcavation was conducted in December 1988. According to a letter from Ms. Diane
i Hinson of the San Jgaquin County Public Health Services Environmental Health Division
(PHS/EHD), one soil sample was collected beneath each of the USTs and the headspace
method of analysis was used instead of United States Environmental Protection Agency
(U.S. EPA) method 8020. Consequently, the letter requires that two soil samples be
collected beneath each of the former UST locations and that proper analytical methods be
used. According to a PHS/EHD letter, dated June 15, 1994, PHS/EHD staff witnessed the
L removal of the product piping and the collection of soil samples (Drawing 2). A summary
of soil sample analytical results for the soil samples collected beneath the product piping is
presented in Table 1.
L
L
L
L
L
L
1.
l
L
