Box 388 <br /> Stockton, CA 95201 <br /> SUBJECT: FORMER BEACON STATION NO. 695, 900 SOUTH CHEROKEE LANE, <br /> STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA <br /> Dear Ms. Turkette: <br /> Enclosed is a copy of the Second Quarter 1997 Groundwater Monitoring Report and the <br /> Addendum to Appendix B/Risk Based Corrective Action Tier 1 and Tier 2 Analysis, Site Closure <br /> Evaluation Report for the above-referenced Ultramar facility. Also included with the report is a <br /> copy of the Quarterly Status Report describing the work performed this quarter and the work <br /> anticipated to be conducted in the next quarter. <br /> Based on a review of all the records that Ultramar has, MW-25 was installed across Cherokee <br /> Lane in November 1988 by DuPont Biosystems. EVAX Technologies installed two(2)wells <br /> designated MW-25 and VW-26 in March 1991. EVAX was not aware that an MW-25 already <br /> existed across the street, and therefore,the designation was changed on the EVAX well to the <br /> next available well designation, MW-27. <br /> In light of the findings presented in the enclosed reports,Ultramar respectfully requests regulatory <br /> site closure.
