Based on comments from this meeting, San Joaquin County Public Health Services,
Environmental Health Division(PHS-EHD)offers the following for your consideration.
The diesel plume in the groundwater at this site must be delineated. Three additional quarters of
groundwater sampling will likely be sufficient to demonstrate the distribution of diesel constituents in
groundwater at this site. You may propose to abandon(or to not sample)those wells that will not be
used for this purpose. In addition, you may propose to abandon the vapor extraction wells at the site,
as they will no longer be needed for this investigation.
The analytical results of the samples collected from the former waste oil tank that was removed in
1986 have never been submitted. If these results are available, please forward them to this office.
Unless additional information introduces new risks not previously identified, PHS-EHD will process this
site for final regulatory closure after the above items have been satisfied. PHS-EHD acknowledges the
tremendous effort by your company to investigate and remediate the contamination at this site and looks
forward to a final site certification.
If you have any questions or wish to discuss this letter in more detail, please call Linda Turkatte, Senior
REHS, at(209)468-3441.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Division
Linda Turkatte, Senior REHS Maagorio, REHS
Site Mitigation Unit Supervisor
LT
c: CVRWQCB-Beth Thayer
c: Delta Environmental, Owen Kittredge
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
