f:+Y <br /> 1 <br /> r� <br /> t <br /> EVAX Project 2260-03 6 May 1991 <br /> i <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> EVAX Technologies, Inc. (EVAX) was retained by Ultramar Inc. (Ultramar) <br /> Q to install and operate a vapor extraction system at Beacon Service <br /> Station 695. The site is located at 900 South Cherokee Lane in Lodi, San <br /> Joaquin County, California. The site has a station building and complex <br /> of 4 underground storage tanks (USTs), and fuel dispensing islands (refer <br /> } to the attached Site Plan). <br /> r;• The system design called for the refurbishing of existing monitoring <br /> wells into vapor extraction wells, and installation of 2 new vapor <br /> extraction wells. The new wells, designated MW-25 and VW-26, were <br /> installed near the west and east sides of the station building, <br /> respectively (refer to the Site Plan). This report presents the <br /> ' s procedures and results of the installation of MW-25 and VW-26. <br /> SCOPE OF WORK <br /> �., This following activities are discussed in this report: <br /> 1. drilling and sampling of 2 soil borings; <br /> 2. construction of vapor extraction/groundwater well MW-25 <br /> 3 � and vapor extraction well VW-26; <br /> s-� 3. sampling of groundwater from MW-25; and - <br /> � � 4. laboratory analyses of soil and groundwater samples for <br /> hydrocarbon products. <br /> INVESTIGATION PROCEDURES <br /> Is <br /> W1 Regulatory Approval <br /> EVAX submitted a workplan to the Environmental Health Division, San <br /> Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS), Stockton; California. <br /> SJCPHS approved the workplan and issued a well permit (Appendix A). <br /> Prior to implementation of the workplan, EVAX prepared a Site Safety <br /> Plan. The Site Safety Plan described the safety guidelines and field <br /> f personnel were briefed as to the contents of the plan. EVAX also <br /> notified—Underground-Services- Alert-to-locate-underground-public-utility- <br /> lines at the site. Ms. Eleanor Ratliff, Environmental Health Specialist, <br /> �. 5JCPHS,.witnessed the drilling and well installation activities. <br /> - - 1 - <br /> IR <br />
