a
t
Mr. Kenneth Earnest
February 27, 1992
r Page 2
benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX) and total petroleum hydrocarbons (PPH) as
gasoline. Ground water did not recharge into monitoring wells WN-1,MW-$, MW-16 and MW-25
after purging, therefore no samples were collected. A summary of!ground water sample analytical
results since June 1991 is presented in Table 2. Enclosure C contains a tame of ground water
analytical results for ground water samples collected at the site since 1985. A dissolved benzene
concentration map based on the December 1991 ground water sample analytical results is illustrated
in Figure 4. Copies of the fie:Z sampling information sheets are presented in Enclosure D. Copies
of the December 1991 ground water sample laboratory reports are presented in Enclosure E.
Ground water analytical results indicate the petroleum hydrocarbon concentrations have decreased in
samples collected from 1?W-1 between September and December 1991. Petroleum hydrocarbon
concentrations have remained below detection limits in ground water sampled collected from
monitoring wells MW-18, MW-21, and MW-24. Hydricarbon concentrations increased in the
ground water in the sample collected from monitoring well MW-27.
The next quarterly ground water monitoring and sampling event at this site is scheduled for
March 1992.
