Earnest TEL. NO: 209-583-5571
BACKGROUND:
Ultramar purchased site from Conoco in July 1990. Several
ground-water monitoring wells had been installed by Conoco
(formerly Kayo Oil Company) at and near the site. At the time
of site purchase, all but six wells (RW-1 , MW-16, MW-18,
MW-20, MW-21, and MW-25) were dry.
In March 1991, one additional ground-water monitoring/vapor-
extraction well (MW-27) and one vapor-extraction well (VW-26)
were installed as part of the installation of a vapor
extraction system designed and permitted for the site Soil
and ground-water analyses showed nondetectable to moderate
TPHg and benzene concentrations.
Permitting for the system was completed and the vapor
extraction system was installed early in the third quarter
1991
A permit application for a 500 scfm catalytic incinerator was
approved by the APCD and the system was initiated on September
20, 1991.
During tank replacement activities, first quarter 1994, 15
underground storage tanks were removed from the property.
Eleven of these tanks were unknown prior to the tank removals.
During the first quarter 1994 three groundwater monitoring
wells and a groundwater recovery well were installed. Also,
twelve vapor extraction borings were drilled with three or
four "nested" wells in each boring.
@ 1E2%Q9M
1 l
A Member of the Ultramar Group of Companies #1 Quality and Service
iJlltam8r
