FAX 9161638-8385 <br /> October 18, 1994 <br /> Mr Kenneth Earnest <br /> Ultramar Inc <br /> 525 West Third Street <br /> Hanford, California 93230 <br /> Subject Quarterly Soil Vapor Extraction Report, Third Quarter 1994 <br /> Former Beacon Station No 695 <br /> 900 South Cherokee Lane <br /> Lodi, California <br /> Delta Project No D093-915 <br /> Dear Mr Earnest <br /> Delta Environmental Consultants, Inc (Delta), has been authorized by Ultramar Inc to operate a soil <br /> vapor extraction system at the subject site (Figures I and 2) The purpose of the system is to <br /> remediate hydrocarbon-impacted soils underlying the site Petroleum vapors in the soils are vented <br /> through 12 nested soil vapor extraction wells (VEW-1 through VEW-12), two recovery wells (RW-1 <br /> and RW-2), and 16 monitoring wells (MW-1, MW-3, MW-4, MW-6, MW-8 through MW-10, <br /> MW-15 through MW-17, MW-22, and MW-26 through MW-30) Locations of the soil vapor <br /> extraction wells are shown on Figure 2 <br /> Evax Technologies, Inc , began operation of the soil vapor extraction system, utilizing a 500 standard <br /> cubic feet per minute catalytic oxidizer at the site in July 1991 Delta was authorized to conduct <br /> operation and maintenance of the system in May 1993 Following underground storage tank <br /> excavation and replacement in January 1994, additional soil vapor extraction wells were added to the <br /> remediation system The soil vapor extraction system was restarted by Delta on May 1, 1994 The <br /> remediation system location is illustrated in Figure 3 <br /> it quarter of 1994 Jul 22 through October 3, 1994), it is estimated that 5,677 pounds <br /> During the third q (July g <br /> (lbs ) of hydrocarbons were removed from soils underlying the site Since the system began <br /> operating in May 1993, approximately 32,813 lbs of hydrocarbons have been removed from soils <br /> underlying the site A summary of extraction and emission rates since May 1993 are presented in <br /> Enclosure A <br /> Prcviding a Competitive Edge <br />
