' I
'
` Mr. J. Kelly Williamson I8 CORPORATION
Kayo Oil Company
March 14, 1985
Rage 2
both wells. All four borehole soil profiles are dominated by silty
sand, with only occasional sandy silt and sand lenses noted in MW-1.
Conclusions and Recommendations
Hydrocarbons are present in the soils above the water table at the
site. The depth of the hydrocarbons suggest that they are spreading
from the tank pit. We recommend that you review your tank test and
inventory records to be sure that there is no active leak on the site.
You should contact the local agencies and the Regional Water Quality
Control Board to inform them that there are hydrocarbons under the
site. We recommend that you monitor the wells for the presence of
hydrocarbons. Two wells should be installed in the tank backfill to
determine if significant contamination is present.
We trust the information contained herein meets your needs at this time.
If you have any questions concerning this work, please feel free to
contact me at our Martinez, California, office (415) 228-8400.
Very truly yours,
Robert M. Galbraith, R.G. 3881
Manager, Geotechnical Services
RMG:ac
Attachments
