x
IT CORPORATION
April 17, 1985
Mr. J. Kelly Williamson
Kayo Oil Company
1121 East Main Street
Chattanooga, Tennessee 37408
Dear Mr. Williamson:
SUBJECT: ASSESSMENT OF THE CONTAMINANT PLUME.
Douglas Self-Service Station
900 South Cherokee Lane
Lodi , California
Store No. 05659
IT Project No. ME 0004
This report reformats the data presented in the March 14 and April 8,
1984 reports. The extent of contamination is presented on five foot
level maps and a crude worse case estimate of the amount of hydrocarbon
in the soils is made. Remedial alternatives that could be applied to
the site are presented with cost estimates and a recommended course of
action is outlined.
Figure i shows the contamination expressed as percent lower explosive
limit values at depths of 5, 10, 15, and 20 feet. Figure 2 shows the
value for Well MW-7 and projects some contamination below MW-3, MW-4,
and MW-6. These three wells had decreasing values with depth but did
not extend completely below the contamination. Figures 1 and 2 indicate
that the contamination is adjacent to the tanks, indicating that the
source of the hydrocarbons is probably the tanks, or spillage when the
tanks were filled.
Regional Office
IT Corporation• 1815 Arnold Drr,e• Martinez Caluornia 94553•415-228-8400
