Subsurface deposits were observed to consist
1 predominantly of fine-grained sand and silt mixed with varying clay content to depths of 20 feet bgs.
Boring logs depicting the subsurface lithology beneath the subject property at the boring locations are
included as Appendix A.
1 Each of the borings was backfilled using a mix of 95 percent Portland Cement and 5 percent bentonite
and the surface restored. Samples were collected in new, specially cleaned containers provided by the
1 analytical laboratory and specific to the analysis to be performed. If appropriate for the analysis, each
sample container was filled completely so that no headspace was present in the containers. Sample
containers were labeled with the site name, sample designation, and date and time of collection; and then
placed in a rigid cooler and chilled to approximately four degrees Celsius for transport to the analytical
1 laboratory.
4.0 LABORATORY TESTING
1 A chain-of-custody was completed for the samples, which were delivered to Curtis & Tompkins, Ltd. of
Berkley, California for analysis. Collected soil samples were analyzed for the presence of VOCs using
1 EPA Method 8260B, TPH-GRO and TPH-DRO using EPA Method 8015B, PCBs using EPA Method
8082,RCRA 8 Metals using EPA Method 6010. A copy of the laboratory report and chain-of-custody are
attached as Appendix A. Relevant data from the laboratory testing of samples collected during this
investigation are summarized in Table 1.
i5.0 SUMMARY OF RELEVANT FINDINGS
1 The following findings are based upon field observations and measurements, review of analytical data,
comparison of analytical results with applicable regulatory levels, and comparative evaluation of
contaminant concentrations with known environmental conditions of the surrounding area.
1 5.1 Field Investigation Findings
The following findings are based upon field observations and measurements:
1 • Soils encountered at the subject property consisted predominantly of a fine-grained sand and silt with
varying clay content.
' • Groundwater was not encountered in any of the borings advanced at the subject property.
• Soils with `petroleum like' odors and/or visual staining were encountered in Boring B3 from
1 approximately 7 to 12 feet bgs; in Boring B4 from roughly 5 to 9 feet bgs; and in Boring B5 at
roughly 6 feet bgs in Boring B5.
1
1 Limited Subsurface Investigation
(J&D Trust)J&D Auto Body 6 +uch.
1011 Cherokee Lane, Lodi, California
f.
