cracks in concrete bear visual monitoring over time and if required, affirmative action
undertaken to maintain integrity of the tank systems. The earthquake steel shoes are properly
placed for maximum restraint in a seismic event, show no signs of any corrosion, or of steel
fatigue. The earthquake shoes are anchored into the concrete pad by 1 inch expansion anchors
and which are adequate to secure the support system. The anchor bolts indicate no evidence of
any corrosion which would affect their ability to properly anchor. The legs on each of the tanks
allow for the system to be raised at least 6 inches and allows for easy and adequate inspection
beneath the tanks.
Onan Cummins Tank: The foundation legs of the Oran Cummins Generamr-Fuel Tank system
were closely inspected, and found to be free of any damage or defect. There were no cracks at
the foundations which would appear to lead to affecting the integrity of the tank support system.
While there are some minor cracks in the pad, there were no cracks discovered emanating from
any of the steel earthquake anchored brackets beneath the Onan Cummins Generator system.
The cracks appears slight and do not indicate any affect on the stability or integrity of the support
system, nor of further spreading beyond its current length. As is always the case, where there is
a crack in the underlying pad, any cracks which emanate or connect to the earthquake shoes,
should be monitored and repaired if they continue to expand, or appear to affect the stability of
the system. If the support _ „- ;i
system should be impinged by
additional cracking or by a
seismic event, then anJ
engineered professional repair
should be undertaken to repair • i
or replace any condition which
would affect the ability of the
tanks to maintain their integrity
or their stability. It is the
normal condition of concrete
slabs that they develop small
hairline cracks over time as the
ground beneath them is
constantly in danger of shifting
in a seismic zone, which is
applicable to Stockton, CA. 21As such, a high degree of --
attention should be paid to any changes in the support system of the tanks. A weakened pad
experiencing a seismic event could cause the tank or tanks to shift from their foundational
supports and as a result, experience a spill or a leak. It is noted herein that there does not appear
to be such a danger in the immediate condition of the pad and supports, but only that slight
cracks in concrete bear visual monitoring over time and if required, affirmative action
undertaken to maintain integrity of the tank systems. The earthquake support brackets are
secured with vibration reducing springs on each of the support to limit the impact of vibration
during operations, which could result in metal fatigue and thus compromise the structure of the
steel supports. The system supports me anchored into the concrete berm pad by %inch anchors
and which are adequate to secure the support system. The anchor bolts indicate no evidence of
any corrosion which would affect their ability to properly anchor. The legs on the tank allows
