N W S ur <br /> RE- Soil Sampling Plan - Ford Mercury Dealership 104 west 11th Street, Tmey, CA <br /> Per your request, this letter report provides a sununmy of the soil sampling plan to be <br /> utilized by Murray &- Associates at the above referenced project. EXcavation and rern. 0va! <br /> of the waste-oil Contaminated soil for off-site disposal'. in accordance with the Soil <br /> Remediation Proposal submitted to the Sari Joaquin County Health Department on <br /> No-ember 3.3, 1989, is scheduled for the early morning on 'I'uesday- January 16, 1990 - <br /> Following the excavation of all contaminated soil, soil samples will be collected froill <br /> beneath the base and sides of the exc-m-ation following the procedures set forth in the Tri- <br /> Regional Recomme-ndations. Manual (June, 1.988). A minimum of four samples will be <br /> collected by driving clean brass soil-collection tubes into native soil brought directly to the <br /> surface in the bucket of a backboe. Once the soil samples have been collected, the ends <br /> of the brass tubes will be sealed with aluminum foil, capped with plastic end-caps, and the <br /> plastic sealed uritb duct tape. The tubes will then be labeled, and placed into a chilled ice <br /> cbest until transported to a certified hazardous waste laborato�7, (California Water Labs <br /> in Modesto California) for analysis. Strict chain of Custody procedures will be followed <br /> during transportation of the samples to the laboratory. <br /> The soil samples will be extruded in the laboratory in order to minimize the loss of volatile <br /> materials and will be analyzed in accordance with EPA procedures including quality control <br /> procedures for evaluating solid waste. The EPA methodology and a list of constituents to <br /> be evaluated are presented in Table 1. <br /> A final report summarizing the findings and results of the sampling program, including the <br /> detailed analytical reports, will be prepared by Murray & Associatv* and forwarded to your <br /> office by Mr. Lambert Barnum. bi addition, Mr. Barnum will forward to your office prior <br /> ,to the excavation and removal of the soil, the registration number of t1he hazardous waste <br /> hauler, and a modified Health and Safety Plan.
