SITE CODE: 1536
1645 Cherokee Lane
Stockton CA 95205
As the responsible party for the above referenced contaminated underground storage tank(UST)
site assigned to the San Joaquin County Local Oversight Program you have been directed to
conduct routine quarterly groundwater monitoring and sampling until further, notice from this
agency. The last quarterly report received by San Joaquin County Environmental Health
Department(SJC/EHD)was from the February 2002 monitoring event. At that time the
groundwater elevation had declined, and representative groundwater samples had not been
retrieved for two quarters.
Discussions with you consultant, Hydro Environmental Technologies, Inc,.(HETI)proceeded
during the summer of 2003. A work plan to continue the investigation of the vertical and lateral
extent of the known contamination in both soil and groundwater had reportedly been prepared,
but was never submitted to SJC/EHD.
Groundwater contamination has been documented at this site, both in the monitoring wells,
(degraded diesel)and in a grab sample collected from a soil boring advanced near the former
UST pit area. The vertical and lateral extent of this groundwater contamination must be defined.
You are directed to submit a work plan to continue the investigation of the vertical and lateral
extent of the known petroleum hydrocarbon contamination at this site. Additional, appropriately
screened monitoring wells are required to assess the extent and intensity of the contaminant
plume in groundwater. The work plan is due for submittal no later than April 9,2004. In addition,
a quarterly groundwater monitoring event must be conducted on or before March 31,2004.
Groundwater monitoring events must continue on a quarterly schedule until directed otherwise by
this agency.
If you have any questions or comments please call Lori Duncan at(209)468-0337.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environmental Health Department
 ta
Lori Duncan,Senior REHS Nuel C.
