Phase II Contaminant Delineation hivestigation
Central California Traction Company
1645 Cherokee Lane,Stockton,CA
Hydro-Environmental Technologies,Inc.
3.2 Grab Ground Water Sample Results
TPH as diesel was found in the two of the five grab ground water samples submitted for analysis at a
maximum concentration of 2,900 parts per billion (ppb). Grab ground water samples provide a screening-
level measure of ground water quality. However, they tend to contain suspended particulates as well as
dissolved analytes, and therefore the analytical results tend to overstate the concentrations of
contaminants in groundwater. Analytical data are summarized in Table 5 below. Certified laboratory
data sheets and chain of custody forms are included in Appendix C.
Table 5: Petroleum Hydrocarbon Results in Grab Ground Water
1645 Cherokee Lane,Stockton, CA
Boring No. TPH as Diesel
Concentrations in parts per billion(ppb)
B-7
04060801600 <50
B-8
0406091300 2,900
11-9
0406091800 <50
B-10
0406101800 <50
B-I1
040611535 1,300
4.0 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
4.1 Conclusions
Residual TPH as diesel remains in soil and ground water in discrete areas at soil borings B-8 and B-11
near the former diesel UST excavation. HETI recommends that a work plan be prepared to remediate the
diesel fuel impacts identified at former tank excavation.
`
Limitations to this report are in Appendix D.
8
