August 2001 Quarterly Ground Water Monitoring <br /> 1645 Cherokee Lane,Stockton,CA <br />' Hydro-Environmental Technologces,Inc <br /> 2.0 GROUND WA'T'ER MONITORING AND SAMPLE METHODOLOGY <br /> The ground water monitoring and sample analysis was conducted in accordance with approved U S <br />' Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) methods, California Code of Regulations (CCR) Title 23 <br /> procedures, and guidelines from the PHDIEHD This investigation was conducted under the direct <br /> supervision of a California Registered Geologist (R G) <br />' 2.1 Health and Safety Plan <br />' For this investigation, HETI personnel revised the site specific health and safety (H&S) plan in <br /> accordance with the requirements of the USEPA 29 CFR 1910 120 and California Cal-OSHA GISO <br /> 5192 All on-site HETI and subcontractor personnel were required to adhere to the H&S plan and were <br /> required to have had 29 CFR 1910 120 training and its annual update The HETI project manager had the <br /> appropriate 29 CFR 1910 120 and California GISO 5192 eight-hour supervisor's course <br />' 2.2 Ground Water Measurements and Sampling <br /> On July 23, 2001, HETI measured and sampled the subject site's ground water from the developed <br /> monitoring wells Ground water depths were measured to the nearest 0 01-foot using a Solmist "well <br /> sounder" or smular measuring device Monitoring wells were measured and sampled in specific order <br /> from the least contaminated ground water to the most contaminated ground water to lower the possibility <br /> ' of cross contamination This was based on analyses obtained from the previous ground water monitoring <br /> event <br /> Prior to ground water sample collection, each monitoring well was purged of a minimum of three well <br /> ' casings volumes of water Once temperature, pH, and conductivity, were stabilized within 10 percent, <br /> ground water samples were collected Monitoring wells were sampled using a disposable bailer All <br /> equipment was subsequently decontaminated between sample events in a detergent and tap-water wash <br /> ' followed by a tap-water rinse, and a final rinse with distilled water <br /> Depth to ground water measurements, temperature, pH, and conductivity are listed in Table 1, sampling <br /> ' forms are in Appendix A Ground water samples were transferred to dedicated glass containers, in three <br /> preserved 40 mL VOA vials The VOA vials were properly labeled, placed inside of a Ziplock-type <br /> plastic bag to lessen possible outside contamination, and placed in a cooler with bagged ice for transfer to <br /> ChromaLab, of Pleasanton, a California DHS accredited laboratory Samples were transported using <br /> proper chain-of-custody procedures <br /> 3 <br />
