FGL Environmental Doe ID: SOQA105.001
Revision Date: 5/7/96 Page:2 of 3
5.1-3 Verify that all standard codes for prep and analysis are listed with volumes where necessary.
5.2 Calibration Data Review
5.2.1 Verify that the proper calibration parameters were performed and requirements met as stated
in the SOP for the test.
5.2.2 For calibrations that are not performed with each analytical run,the valid calibration needs to
be documented in the FGL's calibration curve binder located in each department.
5.3 Analysis Quality Control Review
5.3.1 Each analysis batch is of proper size according to the method or as specified in the SOP.
5.3.2 Initial Calibration Verification (ICV) / Continuing Calibration Verification (CCV) - if
applicable, the ICV needs to be performed immediately after calibration and before samples.
The CCV must be performed at the method specified interval and at the end of the run. The
recovery must fall within the method specified limit.
5.3.33 Initial Calibration Blank(ICB)/Continuing Calibration Blank(CCB)-if applicable,the ICB
needs to be performed immediately after the ICV and before samples. The CCB must be
performed at the method specific interval (after each CCV) and at the end of the run. The
result must be less than the DLR
5.3.4 Internal Standard (IS) - if applicable, the IS needs to be performed with all analyses. The
recovery must fall within the method specified limit.
5.4 Sample Preparation/Matrix Quality Control Review
5.4.1 Verify the yr ne batch is of proper size according to the method or as specified in the SOP.
5.4.2 Surrogate Spike(SS)-if applicable, the SS needs to be spiked into all samples going through
the preparation process. The recovery must fall within the method specified limit.
5.4.3 Preparation Blank(PB)-the PB must be less than FGL's method specified DLR
5.4.4 Laboratory Control Sample (LCS) - the LCS recovery should be within the statistical
acceptance range(AR%)and must be within the EPA method limit.
5.4.5 Matrix Spike Sample(MS)/Blank Spike(BS) -the recovery for the spiked sample or blank
should be within FGL's statistical acceptance range (ARO/6). Confirm the spike level and
analysis if the recovery is out of limit.
5.4.6 Duplicates Samples-the relative percent different(%Diff)between the MS/MSD,BS/BSD
or sample and sample duplicate should less than the FGL's statistical Maximum Acceptable
Value(%MAV).
