History of Site: The property is located on Cherokee Rd. , ap- <br /> proximately 3/4 mile west of 99 freeway in the City of Stockton in <br /> San Joaquin County, California. The site is currently operated as <br /> a custom trailer manufacture and repair facility. The site is <br /> situated within an essentially industrial area. Nearby properties <br /> are primarily businesses with some residences to the south and <br /> east . The overall topography is essentially flat with a slight <br /> fall to the west . The property has been used by the Largin Family <br /> as a service station garage operation since 1950 . <br /> 5 . Project History: On December 21, 1989 two 8, 000 gallon under- <br /> ground gasoline storage tanks and associated product lines were <br /> removed by Jim Thorpe Oil, Inc. The tanks were in relatively poor <br /> condition. Four soil samples (Tank # 1 East and West and Tank # 2 <br /> East and West) were taken, one from each end of both tanks respec- <br /> tively from a depth of 15 feet. All samples were tested for BTEX, <br /> TPH-G, EDB and Organic Lead. Samples 1 & 2 East and # 2 West re- <br /> vealed no levels of contaminates above the reporting limits (see <br /> attached analyses sheets and chain of custody) . Sample 1, West, <br /> however showed levels of p-xylene, m-xylene and o-xylene and ele- <br /> vated detection levels due to heavy late eluting matrix interfer- <br />
