After
development, ground-water samples will be obtained from each well with a
bailer and sent to a laboratory to be analyzed for TPH-G, TPH-D, and
BTEX.
TASK 2 Gmund Water Sampling with a Hydropunch Tool. An additional ground-
wat,r sample will be obtained beneath the location of deepest hydrocarbon
penetration into the soil, near Boriug B11 on Figure 2. This sample will be
obtained by drilling with a hoIlow-stem auger to within 5 feet of the saturated
zone and driving a Hydropunch tool several feet into the saturated zone.
Water wiII collect through a screened portion of the tool and will be retrieved
with a bailer. This water sample will be analyzed for TPH-G, TPH-D, and
BTEX. Before the Hydropunch tool is driven,a soil sample will be obtained
from immediately above the saturated zone with a split-spoon sampler. The
soil sample will also be analyzed for TPH-G, TPH-D, and BTEX.
The hole will be sealed with bentonite hole plug after the tool is withdrawn.
The Hydropunch is recommended for this sampling location because it is
more cost effective than a well installation, and a well would have to be
destroyed if the soil from this area is excavated.
TASK 3 Prepare a Ground Water Investigation Report. A ground water investigation
report will be prepared including the analysis and interpretation of the data
obtained in the above tasks. Additional water elevation data will be obtained
. j from other proposed monitoring wells on the site. The report will include
boring logs, hydrocarbon concentration maps, ground-water elevation maps,
and other data pertinent to the investigation.
Please call Paul Graff at (415;,372-3637 with any questions or comments concerning this
proposed work plan. -
1
Sincerely,
JVIRONMENTAL SC, NCE & ENGINEERING, INC.
Paul K.
