INTRODUCTION <br /> In accordance with the request of Mr Ellis Cecchini of Cecchim, Cecchim and Giovannoni, <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironlnental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this report for fieldwork performed at 3535 <br /> East Cherokee Road, Stockton, California during the second quarter of 1997 Four ground water <br /> monitoring wells were purged and sampled The location of the site Is Illustrated on Figure l - <br /> Location Map Structures and monitoring well locations are illustrated on Figure 2 - Site Plan <br /> Field work was performed in accordance with San Joaquin County Public Health Services - <br /> Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control <br /> Board (CVRWQCB) guidelines for the investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites <br /> Background information was summarized in the Quarterly Report-March 1997 prepared by AGE <br /> 2.0 PROCEDURES <br /> 21 MONITORING WELL PURGE PROCEDURES <br /> On 26 June 1997, a Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in five <br /> monitoring wells at the site relative to the top of the well casing The depth to water was also <br /> measured in three monitoring wells related to an investigation at the northern portion of the property <br /> (SI-1, SI-2 and SI-3) The ground water elevation in each well and hydraulic gradient were <br /> determined from these data (Table 1) <br /> After measuring ground water depths, monitoring wells UST-2 through UST-5 were purged using <br /> a Grundfos submersible purge pump Approximately 8 to 12 gallons of water were removed from <br /> monitoring wells UST-2 through UST-5 (minimum of three well volumes) Temperature, pH and <br /> conductivity were measured at two-gallon intervals during purging Monitoring well stabilization <br /> data and the field sheets are included in Appendix A Purged water was stored on-site in 55-gallon <br /> DOT drums pending laboratory analyses <br /> 22 COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES <br /> Water samples were collected from each purged well using new disposable bailers Each sample was <br /> transferred into three 40-m1 EPA-approved VOA vials containing 0 5 ml of 18% hydrochloric acid <br /> as a preservative and one I-liter amber bottle without preservative The samples were labeled,placed <br /> in a chilled container and transported to McCampbell Analytical, Inc (MAI) in Pacheco The <br /> Advanced GeoEw�iron mental,Inc <br />:J <br />
