Quarterly If epoir t - June 1997
CHEROIZEE TRUCIK STOP
3535 E. Cherokee Road, Stockton, California
1 0. INTRODUCTION
In accordance with the request of Mr Ellis Cecchini of Cecchim, Cecchim and Giovannoni,
Advanced GeoEnvironlnental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this report for fieldwork performed at 3535
East Cherokee Road, Stockton, California during the second quarter of 1997 Four ground water
monitoring wells were purged and sampled The location of the site Is Illustrated on Figure l -
Location Map Structures and monitoring well locations are illustrated on Figure 2 - Site Plan
Field work was performed in accordance with San Joaquin County Public Health Services -
Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control
Board (CVRWQCB) guidelines for the investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites
Background information was summarized in the Quarterly Report-March 1997 prepared by AGE
2.0 PROCEDURES
21 MONITORING WELL PURGE PROCEDURES
On 26 June 1997, a Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water in five
monitoring wells at the site relative to the top of the well casing The depth to water was also
measured in three monitoring wells related to an investigation at the northern portion of the property
(SI-1, SI-2 and SI-3) The ground water elevation in each well and hydraulic gradient were
determined from these data (Table 1)
After measuring ground water depths, monitoring wells UST-2 through UST-5 were purged using
a Grundfos submersible purge pump Approximately 8 to 12 gallons of water were removed from
monitoring wells UST-2 through UST-5 (minimum of three well volumes) Temperature, pH and
conductivity were measured at two-gallon intervals during purging Monitoring well stabilization
data and the field sheets are included in Appendix A Purged water was stored on-site in 55-gallon
DOT drums pending laboratory analyses
22 COLLECTION OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
Water samples were collected from each purged well using new disposable bailers Each sample was
transferred into three 40-m1 EPA-approved VOA vials containing 0 5 ml of 18% hydrochloric acid
as a preservative and one I-liter amber bottle without preservative The samples were labeled, placed
in a chilled container and transported to McCampbell Analytical, Inc (MAI) in Pacheco The
Advanced GeoEwiron mental,Inc
:J
