Quarterly Report _ Second Quarter 2003 <br />' CHEROKEE TRUCK STOP <br /> 3535 East Cherokee Road, Stockton, California <br />' 1.0. INTRODUCTION <br />' At the request of Mr Ellis Cecchim of Cecchini, Cecchini and Giovannom, Advanced <br /> GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this report for field work performed at 3535 East <br /> Cherokee Road,Stockton,California,during the second quarter of 2003 The scope ofwork Included <br />' Installing one ground water monitoring well,conducting a quarterly ground water momtgring event <br /> and preparation of this report <br />' The site setting is Illustrated in Figure 1 Structures, monitoring well and soil boring locations are <br /> illustrated in Figure 2 Background Information was summarized In the AGE-prepared Problem <br /> Assessment Report, dated 16 August 2001 <br /> At the request of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(EHD),Cherokee Truck <br /> Stop quarterly ground water monitoring events are coordinated to occur concurrently with ground <br />' water monitoring activities at the adjacent Moore Truck Lines property(3400 Newton Road) <br /> 2.0. PROCEDURES <br />' On 15 May 2003,six ground water monitoring wells and the large on-site domestic well were purged <br /> and sampled Field work was performed in accordance with the Central Valley Regional Water <br /> Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) and EHD guidelines for the investigations of underground <br /> storage tank (UST) sites and sampling ground water monitoring wells, respectively <br />' 2 1 WELL MONITORING AND EVACUATION <br /> On 15 May 2003,a Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water relative <br /> 1 to the tops of the well casings in six monitoring wells in the area of the former UST locations The <br /> ground water elevation in wells MW-2 through MW-6 and ground water flow direction for the site <br /> were determined from the data collected (Table 1) <br /> 1 <br /> After measuring ground water depths, monitoring wells UST-2 through UST-7 were purged using <br /> a Waterra Inertial pump Between 6 25 and 14 5 gallons of water were removed from wells UST-2 <br />' through UST-7(a minimum of three casing-water volumes per well) Groundwater was purged from <br /> near the top of the water column to remove water trapped within the unscreened interval of the well <br />' casings Temperature,pH and conductivity of purged water were measured at regular intervals during <br /> purging using an Oakton water analyzer The recorded field data and logs are Included in <br /> . Appendix A Purged water was stored on-site in 55-gallon DOT-approved drums pending laboratory <br /> analysis <br /> Advanced GcoEnvironmental,Inc <br />
