cru
• 01 November 2002
AGE-NC Project No 97-0312
0208519-006) and chain-of-custody forms are included in Appendix B Analytical results of water
samples collected during the third quarter 2002 are summarized on Tables 2 and 3 The analytical
results of all water samples are summarized on Tables 4 and 5 Figures 5, 6 and 7 illustrate the areal
extent of TPH-g-, benzene- and 1,2-DCA-impacted ground water
4.0. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS
Based upon data collected from the site, AGE concludes
• Ground water elevation decreased approximately 8 0 feet at the site between the June 2002
and August 2002 monitoring events The inferred ground water flow direction is toward the
northwest The average ground water gradient was 0 003 fl./ft across the site
• During the August 2002 monitoring event TPH-g,TPH-d, and benzene were detected in the
water sample collected from monitoring well UST-5 MTBE was detected in the sample
collected from well UST-6
• During the August 2002 monitoring event 1,2-DCA was detected in samples UST-5 and
UST-6 at concentrations well above the DHS Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) of
0 5 µ.g/1
• The reported concentrations and lateral extent of analytes of concern have remained
relatively stable during the past two years of monitoring
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the results of the quarterly ground water monitoring event, AGE recommeds continued
monitoring of the on-site monitoring and domestic wells The next monitoring event should be
scheduled for December 2002
6.0. LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based mainly
upon analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluation of the hydrogeologic
conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation was made from a limited number of
available data points (i a monitoring wells and domestic well samples) and subsurface conditions
may vary away from these data points No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the
• professional interpretations, opinions and recommendations contained in this report
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
