r F i , 1 I07 March h 2002 ` 1 AGE-NC Project No 97-0312 , - � Page,4 of 4 rrt 4 4.0 DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS Based upon data collected from the site, AGE concludes Groundwater elevation Increased approximately 2 32 feet at the site between the September • 2001 and the December 2001 monitoring events The inferred,ground water flow direction was generally toward the east, varying from the northeast to the southeast The average ground water gradient was 0 008 ft/ft across the site • During the December 2001 monitoring event TPH-g, TPH-d, benzene and toluene were , detected in the water sample collected from monitoring well UST-5 TPH-d was also detected in the water sample collected from UST-1, located adjacent to MW-5 L 1,1-DCA, 1,2-DCE and PCE were detected in two samples collected from the small domestic well -at concentrations as high as 0 69 µg/1, 0 79 µg/1 and 12 µg/1, respectively The concentration of PCE detected in the two samples was over the DHS Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) of 5 µg/1, the detected concentrations of 1,,1-DCA and 1,2-DCE were below ; the MCL of 5 µg/1IP ' r 5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS, Based on the results of the quarterly ground water monitoring event, AGE recommeds continued monitoring of the on-site monitoring and domestic wells 6.0.
