Clnerokee Road, Stockgom, CaH oirmiai
Dear Mr. Cecchini:
Environmental Science & Engineering,g g, Inc. (ESE) presents the following results of the
December 1992 quarterly ground water monitoring activities at the former Delta Truck
Sales, 3535 E. Cherokee Road, Stockton, California (]Figure 1 - Site Plan). ESE initiated
a quarterly monitoring program for well UST-1, located near the fuel islands, for four
quarters (one year) in August 1992. Results of ground water monitoring activities of well
UST-1 performed by ESE in December 1992, representing the second of four quarters, are
presented in this document.
L.1
SRTE BACKGROUND
In 1990, ESE approximately defined the lateral and vertical extent of soil containing diesel
fuel and gasoline from leaking underground tanks and product lines at the facility. Because
hydrocarbons were noted deeper than 50 feet in soil, ground water monitoring well UST-1
was installed to a depth of 103 feet Detectable concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons
were found in the water from this well.
Three additional wells (SI-1, SI-2, and SI-3) are located on site approximately 600 feet from
the fueling area in an estimated cross gradient position (Figure 1). Since ground water
samples from these wells do not contain detectable concentrations of hydrocarbons, wells
SI-1, SI-2, and SI-3 are considered to be outside of the ground water plume from the fueling
island. Wells SI-1, SI-2, and SI-3 were not sampled as part of this ground water monitoring
program.
in August 1992, an ESE representative discovered that the well box for ground water
monitoring well UST-1, located near the fueling island, was damaged. In September 1992,
ESE replaced the well box and purged and sampled the well as part of the quarterly ground
water monitoring program.
4090 Nelson Avenue,Suite] Concord,CA 94520 Phone(510)689-405' Fax(510)685-5323
voum.aaK[uaA.mharanrsrxMytrNe•o4.+rte-seye'.:.i'®FWM wd»'•`.'-..usamet rtn «w rnrawxn N..zN.x...n ,w, __
