Quarterly Report - First Quarter 2000
CHEROKEE TRUCICSTOP
3535 East Cherokee Road, Stockton, California
1.0. INTRODUCTION v
At the request of Mr Ellis Cecchini of Cecchim, Cecchlnl and Giovannom, Advanced -
GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE) has prepared this report for field work performed at 3535 East
Cherokee Road, Stockton,California, during the first quarter of 2000 The scope of work this quarter
Included monitoring the ground water well network on the site and resampling the large domestic
well This report documents collection and analysis of ground water samples and the results of
ground water measurements
The site setting is Illustrated in Figure 1 Structures, monitoring well and soil boring locations are
Illustrated In Figures 2 and 3 Background information was summarized in the Quarterly Report-
September 1999, dated 29 December 1999 and prepared by AGE
2.0. PROCEDURES
Six ground water monitoring wells and'two domestic wells were purged and sampled on 20 March
2000 The large domestic well was resampled on 05 April 2000 Field work was performed in
accordance with San Joaquin County Public Health Services-Environmental Health Division(PHS-
EHD) and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) guidelines for the
investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites
21 WELL PURGE PROCEDURES
On 20 March,2000, a Solinst water level meter was used to measure the depth to ground water
relative to the tops of the well casings in six monitoring wells in the}area of the former UST
locations, three wells that are part of an unrelated investigation on,the subject property, and one well
at 3400 Newton Road The ground water elevation in each well and hydraulic gradient for the site
were determined from these data(Table 1)
' After measuring ground water depths, monitoring wells UST-1 through UST-6 were purged using
a Grundfos submersible purge pump Approximately 120'gallons of water was purged from UST-1
and approximately 15 to 20 gallons of water were removed from wells UST-2 through UST-6 (a
minimum of three well volumes) Ground water was purged from near the top of the water column
to remove water trapped within the unscreened interval of the well casings Temperature, pH and
conductivity of purged water were measured at regular intervals during purging using a Hydac water
Ianalyzer The recorded field data and logs are included in Appendix A Purged water was stored on-
site in 55-gallon DOT-approved drums pending laboratory analyses
Advanced GeoEnvlronmental,Inc
