PERMITTING AND PRE-FIELD WORK ACTIVITIES <br /> Applicable site permits will be obtained from the EHD (i.e. drilling/boring permit). In <br /> addition, an update to the health and safety plan presently on-file will be prepared in <br /> accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Guidance Manual for Hazardous Waste <br /> Site Activities (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health Administration, U.S. <br /> Coast Guard and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, 1985). Prior to mobilization, all <br /> underground trenching areas will be clearly marked and a utility clearance obtained through <br /> Underground Service Alert. <br /> 3.2. SOIL SAMPLE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS <br /> AGE proposes to advance a sixteen (16)borings using direct push technology in the areas <br /> of concern to assess for contaminant-impacted soil beneath the site. Figure 2 depicts <br /> areas with letter and borings are grouped as applied to each area. <br /> Area A <br /> • One boring will be advanced to depth of 20 feet below surface grade (bsg) near a <br /> dry well area (D), <br /> • One boring will be advanced to depth of 15 feet bsg near a septic system area (S), <br /> Area B <br /> • One boring will be advanced to depth of 20 feet below surface grade (bsg) near a <br /> dry well area (D), <br /> • One boring will be advanced to depth of 15 feet bsg near a septic system area (S), <br /> Area C <br /> • Two borings will be advanced to a depth of 20 feet bsg near a septic system area <br /> (S), <br /> Area D <br /> • One borings will be advanced to a depth of 20 feet bsg near a septic system area <br /> (S), <br /> Area E <br /> • Two borings will be advanced to a depth of 20 feet bsg near the former UST release <br /> area to define any additional contamination (type and distribution) <br /> • One borings will be advanced to a depth of 20 feet bsg near a septic system area <br /> (S), <br /> • Six shallow borings will be 5 feet bsg near the former UST release area to define <br /> any residual from impacted soil piles deposited for disposal. <br />
