The plan was required by a 10 June 2004 Notice of Violation(NOV).
After reviewing the workplan, I have the following comments:
— The monitoring wells are located in the land application area. It is preferable, when possible, to
locate the upgradient well outside the land application area so that it won't be impacted by the
wastewater application. Please review the location of Well MW-1 and determine if it can be
placed outside the area where wastewater is applied.
— If conditions in the borehole allow it, surging the filter pack prior to installation of the transition
seal is recommended.
The workplan is approved on the condition that the above comments are addressed in an addendum letter
to be submitted prior to installation of the wells. The schedule for well installation and reporting
presented in the workplan is acceptable. Please submit the well installation report of results by
24 September 2004. If you have any questions on this conditional approval, please telephone me at
(916) 464-4616.
TIMOT !R.
