A ground-water level contour map, and, if possible and
appropriate, maps and cross-sections demonstrating the lateral and vertical extent
of organics and/or metals in the soil and ground water will be prepared. The report
will include interpretation of the data and recommendations for further remedial or
investigative work.
Soil and water samples will be analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline and
diesel and total and soluble lead because these are the primary constituents expected.
Because of the long history of the surface impoundment and its unknown contents over the
years, approximately 10% of the samples will also be analyzed for trace metals and volatile
and semi-volatile organics.
Drilling and sampling procedures are attached to this letter. A Health and Safety Plan is
being prepared for this site and will be submitted to the CVRWQCB upon its completion
and before the work begins.
If you have questions or comments regarding this work plan, please contact Paul Graff at
(415) 372-3637.
Sincerely,
ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE & ENGINEERING, INC.
au K Graff Susan S.
