February 13' 1988 AGS Job No, <br /> Delta Truck Sales, Stockton, California 2005-P <br /> Background Concentrations in Soil <br /> Naturally occurring background concentrations of analyzed <br /> substances in soil at the site will be evaluated Wy collecting4 <br /> samples from at least one additional excavation% the location of <br /> this excavation sampling will be a minimum of 50 feet from the <br /> limits of the main excavatioq7 and will be promptly backfilled. <br /> sampling methods will be identical to those used in the <br /> impoundment excavation. A minimum of three samples and one <br /> duplicate will be collected from soil units similar to those <br /> sampled below the impoundment to indicate background levels of <br /> major ions and metals. <br /> Analytical Procedures <br /> Spoil samples and soil collected from the base of excavations <br /> will be submitted for the following analyses: <br /> o Total petroleum hydrocarbons by Environmental <br /> Protection Agency (EPA) Method 3550 and EPA Method 8015 <br /> (modified) . This analysis will be performed using a <br /> gas chromatograph equipped with a fused capillary <br /> column and a flame ionization detector. A motor oil <br /> standard will be run by the laboratory at our request. <br /> o Total oil and grease (EPA Method 503E) . <br /> 11 <br />
