February 13, 1988
Delta Truck Sales, Stockton, California AGS Job No. 2005-P
Mobil B-61 (or equivalent) drilling rig equipped with hollow-stem
augers.
Earth materials encountered will be logged using relatively
undisturbed samples collected during drilling. Samples will be
collected at 5-foot intervals from the base of the excavation to
total depth of the boring using a California-modified split spoon
sampler. The sampler will, be lowered through the hollow stem of
the augers and driven 18 inches into undisturbed soil with a
standard 140-pound hammer. The number of blows required to drive
the sampler each successive 6-inch interval will be recorded as
an indication of soil consistency. Samples from each soil unit
encountered will be analyzed by the same methods as samples from
the excavation.
The total depth of the boring will be approximately 20 feet below
the static ground-water surface at the time of drilling. The
well will be constructed using 4-inch inner diameter polyvinyl
chloride (PVC) casing. The casing will ponsist of factory-
perforated casing with 0. 020-inch-wide slots from total depth to
a point approximately 10 feet above the ground-water surface.
The remainder of the well will consistrof 4-inch blank PVC
casing.
13
